Work Location: Port Hedland, Western Australia, Fortescue’s Port Hedland operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster: 4 Days On / 3 Days Off – FIFO ex Perth or Residentially based in Port Hedland (relocation assistance offered)

 

Fortescue is seeking an experienced and people-focused Superintendent Electrical Maintenance to lead a high-performing electrical maintenance team across our Port Operations.

In this role, you’ll drive the safe and efficient delivery of asset performance through planned maintenance, effective breakdown response, and long-term reliability strategies. You’ll also play a key part in developing a supportive and inclusive team culture that fosters growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and promote a strong electrical safety culture across site.
  • Lead, develop and coach supervisors, coordinators, tradespeople and apprentices.
  • Drive continuous improvement through technical innovation and operational excellence.
  • Manage and control approved budgets to deliver cost-effective, compliant maintenance outcomes.
  • Engage and influence key stakeholders to achieve strategic and operational objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Australian Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification.
  • Current WA ‘A’ Class Electrical Workers Licence and Nominee’s Ticket.
  • High Voltage ticket and HV switching experience (highly regarded).
  • Proven experience in a Superintendent-level role, ideally within an iron ore or heavy industry environment.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory electrical requirements in mining.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, control systems and variable speed drives.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems.
  • Demonstrated competency using SAP.
