  • Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

The Rail Major Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of major maintenance projects on rail infrastructure, including track and crossings renewal, re-rail, and work within TLOs and TULs, while ensuring that these projects are executed safely, efficiently, within approved budgets, and in compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and standards. This role involves leading a team of Supervisors, Coordinators, and Subcontractors, ensuring quality control and the timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards. Model positive safety behaviour.
  • Oversee rail major maintenance operations
  • Supervise maintenance teams by managing schedules, assigning tasks, and overseeing performance. Ensure team members receive proper training and development.
  • Control project expenses, optimise resource use, and monitor costs.
  • Liaise with Fortescue Key Stake Holders and Contractors, to ensure smooth project execution. Provide regular updates on project progress.
  • Resolve any issues that arise during maintenance, whether technical, logistical, or related to personnel. Coach and share knowledge with others in areas of expertise.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • 3 – 5 years proven experience in a similar leadership position.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a high-pressure, safety-sensitive environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Expertise in rail infrastructure, including tracks, signals, and crossings, and familiarity with relevant tools and equipment.
  • Trade or Tertiary qualification desirable.
  • Valid WA C class drivers licence.
