Work Location: Port Hedland Operations – Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. 

 

Roster: 8 Days On / 6 Days Off Residential or FIFO ex Perth

 

We are seeking a skilled and safety-driven Supervisor – Track Maintenance to lead our rail infrastructure operations. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the integrity, reliability, and safety of our rail network by effectively coordinating and overseeing all track maintenance activities.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of critical infrastructure and make a lasting impact through strong leadership, collaboration, and technical expertise.



Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily rail track maintenance operations across the site
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards, regulations, and maintenance schedules
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments of rail infrastructure to identify issues early and implement proactive solutions
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance personnel, fostering a strong safety-first culture and continuous improvement mindset
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, logistics, and safety teams to align maintenance activities with broader operational goals
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation for all maintenance activities and inspections
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise during incident responses and emergency situations

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in rail track maintenance, with a solid background in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong understanding of rail infrastructure systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations
  • Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in rail, civil construction, or related fields
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in remote site conditions and commit to an 8/6 roster
  • Competence in maintenance management systems and reporting tools
