Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon site is located on the traditional lands of Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi people.
Roster: 7D7N14R FIFO ex Perth, Busselton or Karratha
We are looking for experienced Pump Fitters to join our Solomon OPF Mechanical Maintenance Team on a 2/2 Roster. This role will be responsible for Pump rebuilds and fault finding along with carrying out plant condition based inspections. The successful applicant will work alongside the mechanical, operations and technical team, with ability to mentor, coach and train apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis such as ensuring that all works completed are adequately risk assessed and hazards mitigated and adequately controlled
- Ensure all maintenance works are completed in a timely manner to a very high quality
- Ensure all necessary maintenance inspections and audits of the site and related facilities are completed within allocated time frames
- Ensure all maintenance plans are completed and work is carried out in a timely and satisfactory manner and to a high quality
- Compliance to work management policies, ie quality notification creation, time confirmation daily, ordering consumables and closure of work orders upon job completion
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Area lead during major shutdowns.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience post apprenticeship
- Certificate III in engineering – Mechanical Fitter and Turner
- Warman Centrifugal Slurry Pump trouble shooting, wet end repairs and rebuilds
- Warman GEHO positive displacement pump trouble shooting, power end - wet end repairs and rebuilds
- Basic machining skills
- Understanding of wet plant process and flow
- Competency in SAP (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential)
- Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
- Self-driven, willing to be flexible and the ability to demonstrate initiative without Supervision
- Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
- Current Driver’s License (C Class).
