As one of the world’s largest mining companies, and a business that is focussed on becoming the world’s number one integrated green technology, energy and metals company, Fortescue has expanded rapidly into a wide variety of overseas jurisdictions, many of which carry their own complexities from a tax perspective. Being one of Australia’s largest corporate taxpayers, Fortescue is committed to ensuring communities benefit from our operations, and it is critical that we comply fully and on a timely basis with the tax laws of all jurisdictions in which we operate.

Due to team members going on parental leave, two opportunities have arisen to join Fortescue’s International Tax team on 12-15 month fixed-term contracts initially, with the potential for extension or for an ongoing role for the right candidate depending on future business needs. Working with Fortescue’s broader finance and business functions, the successful Senior Tax Advisor and Principal Tax Advisor will be integral members of our Group Tax team, which supports Fortescue in meeting its tax obligations both in Australia and across the more than 30 overseas countries where we are represented.

The two positions cover a wide range of experience levels, and will provide the successful candidates with a challenging and rewarding experience in a large corporate environment as part of a friendly and supportive team.

  • Conduct regular reviews of the tax systems, processes and controls utilised by the group, to ensure they comply with agreed tax policies and manuals.
  • (Principal Tax Advisor) supervise and support the work of Senior Tax Advisors in the International Tax team in relation to complex jurisdictions.
