Our Opportunity

 

Fortescue are seeking Expressions of Interests for the position of Principal Technical Marketing, this position is to be based in Shanghai, China.

 

The role will report to the Senior Manager – Technical Marketing in Perth. 

 

The Principal Technical Marketing will be based in our Shanghai office.

 

The technical marketing team supports Fortescue’s iron ore business, by leveraging a deep understanding of iron ore products, their vale in use in iron and steel making processes, contributing to the maximum realisation of value for Fortescue shareholders. 

 

The team also has accountability for managing R&D test work programs and leading collaboration initiatives with customers and other industry stakeholders. 
 

 

Key Responsibilities

 


•    Lead Fortescue’s China based Iron Ore technical marketing team
•    Develop workplans for the technical marketing team aligned to Fortescue’s priorities
•    Ensure that the team provides technical marketing support to the business (operations, sales & marketing, projects), including value in use modelling, technical education, customer complaints tracking & resolution, and product marketing
•    Formulate, review and update customer tiering models based on market trends and company objectives 
•    Develop and execute testwork/R&D programs for Fortescue’s iron ore products 
•    Maintain external relationships with service providers and technical industry bodies
 

Qualifications and Experience

 


•    Ability to manage small technical teams from a variety of cultures 
•    Strong co-ordination capabilities across many stakeholders
•    Minimum of 10 years professional technical experience 
•    Experience in technical marketing, operations, iron ore beneficiation, agglomeration, steel/iron making will be highly regarded
•    Experience and qualifications in Metallurgy and/or Engineering
