Shipping Operations Officer - Entry

Employment Engagement: Singaporean National or current Permanent Resident holder
To liaise closely with shipping, scheduling, marketing teams and vessel owners, brokers and agents to ensure smooth operations throughout the whole voyage while ensuring Fortescue interests are always safeguarded and results are achieved in line with Fortescue Values
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all operations aspect of vessels which include sending voyage instructions, agency appointment, monitoring vessel ETAs, updating IMOS, freight payments, LOI and post fixture matters, etc…
- Engagement with Marketing Department to assist on vessel updates, requirements, and disputes if any
- Close monitoring on vessel ETAs to facilitate vessel scheduling at load-port
- Stay in close contact with the scheduling/chartering team in regard to changes in ETA so that Port Hedland berth occupancy can be maximized.
- Data accuracy in IMOS + SEDNA + LOI’s
- Settlement of laytime calculations with marketing and final freight settlements with owners
- Review and feedback to management on external vendor services/experience.
- Engagement with external and internal counterparties to assist on vessel updates, requirements, and disputes if any
- Ensuring accurate P&L results are reported on operated vessels
- Work in line with Fortescue Values.
Qualifications and Experience
- University Graduate
- Experienced vessel operator with 2-3 years
- Experience and good understanding of vessel operations
- Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure
- Knowledge of freight/laytime calculations
- Good understanding of Charterparty terms
- Ability to work in team working environment
- Good time management and communications skills
- IMOS and SEDNA experience will be an advantage to have but is not essential
- Enthusiastic, positive, and never give up attitude
