Mine Controller – Entry and Experienced - Multiple roles
Work Location: Perth (HIVE) or Site-based – Fortescue’s operations are located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people (Perth) and Traditional Custodians of our Pilbara sites.
Roster: Perth-based 4D/4N/8R, or FIFO 8D/6R/7N/7R
These roles are accountable for the execution of the Mine Plan using Command MineStar and Fortex systems. Reporting to the AHS Mine Control Supervisor, you will be an integral member of the team that drives efficiency, productivity, and optimisation across our operations.
Please note as the next stage of the application process, we will be holding an Assessment Centre in the first week of November for a chance to meet the team and be considered for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Maximise equipment productivity through efficient fleet management.
- Deliver against, and exceed, the mine production plan.
- Act as the key point of contact for AHS Builders, In-field Builders, Pit Supervision, Operators, and Blend Coordinators.
- Ensure a high level of data integrity within fleet management systems (MineStar/Fortex).
- Rapidly troubleshoot and diagnose fleet and assignment issues in collaboration with AHS Builders, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
- Support the adoption of new fleet management technologies, processes, and workflows to enhance operational excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in frontline mine system control or control room operations.
- Strong proficiency in the use of fleet management systems such as Caterpillar MineStar, Fortex, SCADA, or Ardvarc (required for ‘experienced’ level role).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of production strategies for large-scale mining operations.
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, with a strong interest in technology and innovation.
- Clear, decisive communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
