Our Opportunity
Location: Eliwana Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 90 kilometres west of Tom Price.
Roster: 7 days / 7 nights / 14 days off – FIFO ex Perth/Busselton
The Maintenance Technician – Advanced provides a higher level of technical support across the Mobile Maintenance Workshop, with a key focus on delivering reliable hose manufacturing and servicing capability on-site. The role oversees the production, testing, and quality control of hydraulic hose assemblies, while also performing routine and advanced inspections, minor repairs to jacks, tooling, and equipment, and ensuring high presentation standards across the workshop. This position builds on the foundational hose and workshop skills developed at the Experienced level and contributes to improved safety, reliability, and operational efficiency within the Maintenance Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, crimp, assemble, pressure-test, and quality-check hydraulic hose assemblies to Parker/OEM/site specifications, ensuring correct cleanliness and contamination-control practices.
- Operate, maintain, and organise the hose shed, including fittings inventory, crimp charts, testing equipment, and overall cleanliness and workflow management.
- Lead small installation and upgrade projects for workshop infrastructure, equipment stations, and operational improvements, ensuring safe execution and effective coordination with the Maintenance Services team.
- Carry out routine inspections and basic repairs of jacks, lifting aids, tooling, and workshop equipment, ensuring reliable and safe operation of core workshop assets.
- Perform key workshop tasks such as equipment checks, tool store upkeep, material movement (Skid Steer/IT/forklift), and maintaining high housekeeping and operational presentation standards.
- Provide mentoring and support to developing technicians through onboarding, knowledge sharing, and reinforcing safe work practices and workshop standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2–3+ years’ experience in a maintenance or workshop environment, with demonstrated competency in hydraulic hose assembly and crimping (Parker or equivalent).
- AURTTA012 – Fabricate and install fluid power hose assemblies (preferred).
- C-Class Manual Driver’s Licence, with strong hazard awareness and ability to work safely around pressure systems and workshop equipment.
- High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF), with experience operating Skid Steer and Integrated Toolcarrier (IT) highly regarded.
