Our Opportunity

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

 

Roster: 8D6R FIFO ex Perth

 

Reporting to Senior Plant Metallurgist and working within the Metallurgy team at Iron Bridge Magnetite Ore Process Facility, the main responsibilities of the role will be to maintain all sample stations, online analysers and performing metallurgical test works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory tests safely, ensuring high-quality standards are upheld while meeting production targets.
  • Ensure the operability and accuracy of all sampling stations and online analysers, including PSI300/500, Courier 6XL, Belt Magnasat, Belt Moisture Meter, and Belt Particle Size Analyzer.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within laboratory operations.
  • Perform a diverse range of metallurgical test work on magnetite iron ore samples, plant surveys, and plant trials accurately and safely, adhering to strict timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Metallurgical Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment, and representative sampling methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of pilot-scale mineral processing test work and associated equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of online analysers for assaying and grind size, such as PSI and Courier XL.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection, recording, and documentation management.
  • Enthusiastic about learning new skills and continuously improving expertise.
  • Proven commitment to safety and a zero-harm workplace culture.
  • Able to clearly communicate complex concepts and techniques to individuals and groups.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for system or process improvements.
