Roster: Monday to Friday
The DevOps Engineer will play a pivotal role in building and operating Fortescue’s AI Platform and supporting a wide range of AI use cases across the enterprise. This role combines hands-on DevOps expertise with strong cloud and data & AI engineering practices to ensure scalable, secure, and automated delivery of AI services. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with AI engineers, data scientists, data engineers and the Cyber team to enable rapid, secure, and efficient deployment of AI workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for AI platforms and use cases
- Build scalable CI/CD platforms across Snowflake, Azure, and AWS with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Embed automated testing, security scanning, and DevSecOps practices into delivery workflows
- Continuously optimise release processes to improve speed, reliability, and compliance
- Support Fortescue’s AI Platform to enable efficient model training, deployment, and operations
- Integrate AI/ML frameworks (Azure ML, SageMaker, OpenAI APIs) into automated pipelines
- Deliver MLOps/LLMOps workflows for model packaging, serving, monitoring, and lifecycle management
- Manage containerised workloads and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
- Implement secure authentication, IAM, SAML, OAuth, and SSO with Azure AD
- Set up observability pipelines (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki) for monitoring, alerting, and platform reliability.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 10+ years’ experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Solid cloud engineering experience with Azure and/or AWS
- Familiarity with Snowflake administration, access control, and integration into pipelines
- Proven experience in setting up complete CI/CD platforms for Snowflake. Azure and AWS, including automated build, test, and deployment workflows
- Practical experience with authentication and identity management concepts, including SAML, OAuth, and SSO integrations with Azure Active Directory and other applications
- Knowledge of AI/ML workflows, MLOps practices, and model deployment
- Strong background in authentication, security, and compliance practices
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
