Our Opportunity

 

Location: All Pilbara Operations

 

 

Roster: Variable Shutdown FIFO Roster (based off 8 days on 6 days off volume of days annually 

 

 

An exciting opportunity exists within our Asset & Material Management Systems team for a driven Shutdown Execution Lead. In this pivotal role, you will help ensure the seamless execution and delivery of shutdowns across all Fortescue operations. 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Schedule management and updates including progress verification, work-front coordination, and risk mitigation

  • Escalate risks, scope changes, and schedule impacts to protect the shutdown critical path and overall delivery

  • Lead and oversee contractor performance by communicating priorities, managing workflows, and ensuring quality execution

  • Identify and manage high-risk tasks, resolving work-front interactions to maintain safe and uninterrupted progress

  • Provide strong leadership and coaching to support future leaders and act as the primary escalation point for vendors

  • Champion Fortescue’s safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives with contracting partners and site shutdown teams

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • 5+ Years experience within fixed plant shutdowns and/or maintenance environment alongside competency in technical fields quality compliance are favourable
  • Statutory Supervisor qualification and strong supervisory experience and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across various levels, including ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
  • Strong knowledge and passion for shutdown process, with a proven record of overseeing large projects or similar strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, Safety and Environment is essential
  • Desirable skills and experience with SAP, Microsoft Project and digital systems and processes
