Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8/6 Day Only – FIFO ex Perth
At Fortescue, we are in the process of transforming our energy assets to achieve our climate change targets of zero emissions by 2030. The Energy Operations assets are expanding which provides many opportunities to learn, grow and do more than you thought was possible. You will be a key member of the Solomon HV Transmission team in providing power to the Solomon mining hub which also extends to Iron Bridge via a 220kV transmission line.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operational performance and maintenance of this important asset.
- Consistently maintain high standards in all facets of network operations and maintenance.
- Work with the Transmission Supervisors to ensure all maintenance activities are executed in accordance with maintenance strategies.
- Commitment to high quality safety and continuous improvement practices.
- Use of SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification.
- Provide operational and maintenance support to the Energy Operations department as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Australian recognised Trade Certification - Electrical Workers License
- High Voltage Switching certificate and relevant network switching experience
- Experience with all aspects of HV power distribution and transmission apparatus. Experience in large scale transmission networks and operation of Siemens GIS switchgear would be an advantage.
- Experience in work management maintenance systems - SAP
- EWP and working at heights trained – desirable
- Flexibility in operation and ability to work in a team and as a motivated contributor
- Self-motivated individual with written and verbal communication skills
