Community Advisor
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Residential in Hedland - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: Monday – Friday
Fortescue is seeking a proactive and community-focused Community Advisor to support the delivery of our community engagement portfolio in the Pilbara.
Based in Port Hedland on a residential Monday-to-Friday roster, this role plays a key part in strengthening Fortescue’s relationships with local stakeholders. You will be responsible for planning and delivering site-based engagement activities, managing key community partnerships, and coordinating events that reflect Fortescue’s commitment to meaningful and respectful engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for community partnerships and social investment initiatives in the Pilbara region.
- Implement community relations initiatives to ensure our presence has a positive impact on local communities.
- Lead the development of Community Engagement Plans for our sites and facilitate successful engagements to foster positive relationships in the Pilbara region where we operate.
- Provide advice and assistance to Fortescue teams regarding community and stakeholder activities, in alignment with Fortescue's Community Development Plan.
- Manage Fortescue’s presence at key community events.
- Maintain accurate records of engagement activities and interactions with stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualifications in Community Development, Stakeholder Relations, Social Impact, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in community engagement or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating stakeholder management plans.
- Proven ability to build and maintain eƯective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience in drafting reports, communication materials, and briefing notes.
- Strong analytical skills, adaptability, and organizational abilities.
- A valid Class C Driver's License.
- National Police Clearance.
