Our Opportunity

Work Location: Hedland Operations - Port Hedland - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations is located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster: 7 Month Fixed Term Opportunity on a 4D/3R residential in Hedland OR FIFO ex Perth. 

 

This role is responsible for developing and managing shutdown scheduling activities at Fortescue's Hedland Operations. It ensures efficient, safe, and well-structured shutdown execution through meticulous planning and coordination with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and build shutdown schedule from initial layup through to execution.
  • Develop and maintain shutdown schedules using SAP–MSP software integration.
  • Track and manage schedules during execution, providing progress reports, evaluating critical path tasks, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Review maintenance work orders within the shutdown revisions for scope accuracy, ensuring alignment with stakeholders, maintenance coordinators, engineering/reliability teams, operations, and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain SPEAR resource requests.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying risks and schedule inefficiencies.
  • Identify long-term shutdown deliverables and key planning milestones.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings on shutdown preparedness and execution, including readiness updates, shutdown progress and pre-shutdown interactions.
  • Develop resource requests in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient execution.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in Fixed Plant Maintenance or Shutdowns (Mechanical/Electrical Trade Qualification)
  • SAP application experience
  • Experience in MS Office Suite (Excel, MSP, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work self-sufficiently
  • Ability to adapt to challenges & change during planning and execution phases
