Step into a key leadership role and drive excellence in Port operations.....

We are seeking an experienced and driven Maintenance Supervisor to join our Port Maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Superintendent Mechanical Maintenance, this is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team and make a real impact on the safety, reliability, and performance of our fixed plant operations.

 

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for mentoring a diverse team of trade and non-trade professionals, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards while fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and empower a diverse maintenance service team, including tool store personnel, project teams, and contractors.
  • Drive electrical compliance across all fixed plant assets, ensuring operations meet all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Oversee and manage compliance inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs at the Port.
  • Provide effective contract management and support for third-party maintenance vendors.
  • Identify and implement maintenance improvement projects to optimise performance and reliability.
  • Champion a proactive safety-first culture, ensuring all work is conducted in line with best practice.
  • Develop and execute succession planning and team development initiatives to build capability and engagement.
  • Set clear expectations, KPIs, and performance standards to align team efforts with business goals.
  • Plan, allocate, and supervise day-to-day activities for electrical employees and contractors under your supervision.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in mining or heavy industry maintenance environments.
  • Australian-recognised “A” Grade Electrical License (essential).
  • Solid understanding of SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with sharp attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and inspire teams from diverse backgrounds.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across departments.
  • Committed to upholding the highest safety standards and driving continuous improvement.
  • Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced, operational environments.
