Roster: Monday - Friday
Fortescue is looking for a Product Owner to shape and deliver predictive maintenance products across our Maintenance AI program. You’ll turn operational needs and emerging opportunities into clear product strategies, roadmaps and outcomes that help our business maintain equipment more effectively.
You’ll work closely with maintenance, engineering, operations, data and technology teams to identify where predictive maintenance can make a difference, build agreement on what to do next, and guide products from idea through delivery and ongoing improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the roadmap for Fortescue’s predictive maintenance products, aligning priorities with business needs and the Maintenance AI program.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and workshops to explore current and future product ideas, define problems and develop product plans and strategies.
- Translate operational and technical needs into product goals, requirements, user stories and measurable outcomes.
- Own and prioritise product backlogs, helping delivery teams focus on the work that provides the greatest value.
- Work with engineering, maintenance, operations, software, data and AI teams to guide products through design, development, deployment and adoption.
- Track product performance against agreed measures, identify opportunities to improve, and communicate progress and outcomes.
- Maintain clear, useful product documentation, including roadmaps, decision records, requirements and performance information.
- Build strong relationships across the business and encourage practical, responsible use of AI in maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in predictive maintenance, gained in heavy mobile equipment (HME), fixed plant maintenance or a related industrial environment such as oil and gas.
- A technical background in engineering or software development, with the ability to work confidently across operational and digital teams.
- Experience shaping products, managing backlogs and roadmaps, or leading the development of technology solutions.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to lead workshops and bring people with different perspectives together.
- A personable, collaborative style and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at different levels.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for what AI and data can do for the business, paired with a practical focus on solving real maintenance problems.
- A structured, outcome-focused approach to prioritisation, documentation and performance measurement.
