Work Location: Perth Office - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people. Ad hoc site travel as required.

Fortescue is leading the global transition to green energy and decarbonised mining. As part of this journey, we are seeking an Asset Readiness Specialist – Mobile Equipment to join our Asset and Maintenance Readiness Team within the Decarbonisation Project portfolio. This role is critical in ensuring that new mobile assets introduced through the decarbonisation program are fully maintenance-ready at handover, enabling safe, reliable and efficient operations from day one.
You are a proactive and technically capable maintenance professional with a strong understanding of mobile equipment and asset lifecycle requirements. You thrive in a dynamic project environment and understand the importance of getting asset readiness right before operations begin.
You bring a structured approach, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset, and are motivated by contributing to Fortescue’s decarbonisation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop maintenance strategies and plans for Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME), Support Mobile Equipment (SME) and Light Mobile Equipment (LME)
- Identify and define spares requirements, including commissioning, critical/insurance, operating, and consumable spares
- Support development of maintenance procedures and checklists in collaboration with SMEs and technical writers
- Identify special tools and support equipment required for ongoing maintenance
- Ensure all asset data, maintenance plans, and documentation are complete, accurate, and available prior to handover
- Work closely with project, commissioning, operations, and supply chain teams to align readiness activities
- Liaise with OEMs and equipment vendors to validate maintenance requirements and technical information
- Maintain and update equipment registers, master data, and documentation
- Provide progress reporting and readiness updates to key stakeholders
- Support the transition of assets from project delivery into operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in mobile equipment maintenance or asset readiness within mining or heavy industry
- Strong knowledge of HME maintenance practices and systems
- Experience working in project or greenfield environments highly regarded
- Exposure to maintenance planning, scheduling, or asset management
- Familiarity with SAP or similar CMMS systems
- Ability to interpret OEM documentation and technical data
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Engineering or Trade qualification
- Experience in decarbonisation, energy, or infrastructure projects
- Experience with OEM systems (e.g. CAT SIS, Liebherr portals)
- Project management exposure.
