Our Opportunity
Work Location: Solomon – Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton.
Solomon is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our Mobile Maintenance Drill Team. You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing the electrical systems across our drill fleet, supporting safe and reliable equipment performance in a fast-paced mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and breakdown electrical maintenance across the drill fleet.
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical and electronic faults.
- Maintain electrical systems, control systems, wiring and associated components.
- Complete inspections and preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
- Respond to field breakdowns and support safe, efficient equipment recovery.
- Work closely with mechanical trades, operations and maintenance teams.
- Accurately complete maintenance records and work orders.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Fortescue safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Australian recognised Auto Electrical trade qualification.
- Previous experience maintaining heavy mobile mining equipment.
- Experience with Epiroc D65 and Pit Viper 271 Electrical systems.
- Strong electrical diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
- Experience interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Exposure to OEM diagnostic systems and mining equipment technology.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and quality workmanship.
