Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: Monday to Friday (Residential)
The Community Administration and Support Officer provides high-quality administration and coordination support to Fortescue’s Community team and manages the South Hedland Fortescue Community Office.
The role is also a community-facing representative of Fortescue, supporting positive relationships with community members, organisations, local stakeholders and Fortescue employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the South Hedland Community Office and respond to visitor, telephone and email enquiries.
- Provide administrative support for community programs, including grants, sponsorships, meetings, events and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records, spreadsheets, databases and registers.
- Raise purchase orders, process invoices and support financial administration.
- Assist with planning and delivering community events, forums and stakeholder activities.
- Represent Fortescue professionally at community events and committees when required, including occasional weekend and after-hours activities.
- Comply with Fortescue’s safety, privacy, cultural awareness and other relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum three years’ experience in administration, communications, community engagement, events or a related field.
- Experience in community programs, grants, sponsorships or not-for-profit organisations is desirable.
- Strong computer literacy, data management and reporting skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to safety, inclusion and respectful community engagement.
- Current C-class driver’s licence and ability to operate a manual vehicle where required.
- Ability to undertake occasional local travel and after-hours or weekend work.
