Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
This role is responsible for supporting end-to-end contract and procurement activities on Fortescue’s Blacksmith Project.
With a focus on construction works and services, capital procurement, and pre and post award contract management, you will play a key role in delivering commercially robust outcomes aligned to project objectives and compliance requirements.
The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to manage risk, optimise value, and ensure effective contract award, execution and close-out.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, coordination, evaluation and execution of tender packages for construction contracts, equipment and services, ensuring alignment with project objectives and compliance requirements;
- Negotiate contract terms and pricing to support project schedules, budgets and commercial outcomes with appropriate risk profiles;
- Prepare clear, structured contract documentation, including drafting terms and pricing schedules;
- Prepare and manage contract award recommendations and supporting documentation for internal approvals and contract execution;
- Manage contracts post-award, including contract administration, claims management, payment claim assessments, correspondence, and close-out activities;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors across multiple work packages to ensure alignment, collaboration and delivery of project outcomes
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in projects related contracting and procurement activities within mining, infrastructure, oil and gas, including exposure to Civils, NPI, SMP and EIC works;
- Tertiary qualification in law, commerce, engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or similar (or equivalent experience);
- Sound capability in contract negotiation, administration, and claims management;
- Sound understanding of project delivery models, construction contracts, and commercial risk allocation;
- High attention to detail and ability to produce clear, accurate and commercially sound documentation;
- Proactive, accountable and outcome driven, with the ability to work independently and contribute to high-performing teams; and
- Demonstrated alignment with organisational values, contributing positively to safety, culture and sustainable project delivery
