Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster: Part-Time 3x per week (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract) 

 

Fortescue is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Environmental Data Officer to join our Exploration Approvals and Compliance team on a part-time, 12-month contract.

 

This role plays an important part in supporting environmental compliance and rehabilitation activities across our exploration portfolio. Working closely with a range of technical teams, you will help manage rehabilitation data, maintain compliance records, support reporting requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of environmental data management processes.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build experience in environmental compliance, data management, mining, exploration, or natural resource management. We welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review exploration drilling and rehabilitation information to support compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Assist with rehabilitation management activities, including maintaining registers, preparing reports, and supporting submissions to regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate data imports, exports, and database maintenance activities.
  • Support the management and storage of environmental and access-related records.
  • Create user guides and process documentation to support internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with technical teams to ensure data is accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assist with GIS mapping, spatial data integration, and reporting activities.
  • Contribute to a range of compliance and continuous improvement projects as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to manage and maintain data and records.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confidence working with databases and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with GIS software, compliance processes, rehabilitation activities, or environmental reporting will be highly regarded but is not essential.
