Our Opportunity

 

Work Location:  Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

 

Roster:  8D/6R -  FIFO ex Perth - (Thursday–Thursday, A Crew)

 

Join our Technical Services team at Iron Bridge as an Entry Field Technician, supporting RC drilling and Resource Definition activities.

 

This hands-on role will involve sample collection and management, data entry, hazard rectification, equipment and consumables coordination, and providing day-to-day support to the Field Supervisor and wider team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • RC sample logging and collection.
  • Assisting RC team members with hazard rectifications.
  • Weekly AcQuire data entry and tracker updates.
  • Dispatching sample bags to off-site laboratories.
  • Assessing work area access and signage requirements.
  • Entering and closing hazards in BMS.
  • Closely Liaising with Mining departments to support Resource Definition projects.
  • Conducting vehicle pre-starts, reporting faults, and coordinating timely vehicle servicing.
  • Monitoring and stocktaking office and drilling consumables.
  • Assisting the Field Supervisor with day-to-day activities.
  • General forklift loading and unloading.
  • Closing out work and preparing the work area for the incoming crew.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Demonstrates Fortescue's Values.
  • Strong commitment to personal and team safety.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Current WA Class C Manual Driver's Licence.
  • Competent and confident driving manual vehicles.
  • Certified 4WD operator.
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to work confidently in remote Pilbara conditions.
  • Able to undertake physical tasks, including sample bag collection.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic to intermediate computer literacy.
  • Efficient, organised, and detail-oriented.
  • AcQuire software experience (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask.
