Our Opportunity
Work Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 7D/7N/14R - FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra.
As a Truck HD Fitter at Cloudbreak, you will play a key role in maintaining fleet performance while supporting Fortescue’s transition to lower-emissions mining operations. Through high-quality maintenance and reliability practices, you will contribute to improved efficiency and the delivery of our decarbonisation objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled servicing and breakdown repairs on heavy haul trucks
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
- Conduct component change-outs including engines, transmissions, differentials and hydraulic systems
- Complete inspections and defect reporting in accordance with site standards
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics and OEM documentation
- Accurately complete maintenance records and work orders in SAP (or site CMMS)
- Participate in shutdowns and major maintenance activities
- Comply strictly with Fortescue safety, environmental and operational procedures
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade qualification - Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Diesel, or equivalent
- Proven experience maintaining large mining haul trucks in a production mining environment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Experience with CAT, Komatsu, or similar OEM equipment (highly regarded)
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- HR Driver’s Licence (desirable)
- Working at Heights (or ability to obtain)
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship
