Our Opportunity

We’re seeking expressions of interest from experienced Health and Safety leaders for two site-based FIFO opportunities on a 4D3R roster. These opportunities are available on a permanent and 6 month fixed term basis.

Both roles will lead a multidisciplinary site-based Health and Safety team, supporting the effective delivery of the site’s Health and Safety Management System. Working closely with site leaders, you’ll help manage operational risk, strengthen safety performance, and build a culture where safety is part of how work gets done.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Health and Safety, you’ll work with leaders, employees, contractors, and vendor partners across a fast-paced mining operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the site Health and Safety team, setting clear expectations and supporting performance and career development.
  • Provide visible safety leadership and coach site leaders, team members and Health and Safety Representatives.
  • Guide the implementation and improvement of Health and Safety programs, systems and site strategy.
  • Support effective risk management through field engagement, risk reviews and analysis of safety data and trends.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor assurance activities, and support audits, incident reviews and emergency planning.
  • Report on safety performance, provide guidance on regulatory matters and identify opportunities for sustainable improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least five years’ experience in the mining or resources sector - a Diploma or degree in Work Health and Safety, auditor qualifications, ICAM Lead Investigator training, Bow Tie analysis experience, or experience in open-pit mining, fixed plant or heavy mobile equipment would be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams in a safety role.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, as a minimum.
  • Strong knowledge of Western Australian health and safety legislation and mining regulations.
  • Experience in risk management, hazard identification, audits and contractor management.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence leaders and frontline teams.
