Are you looking to launch your career at the forefront of autonomous mining?

As a Mine Control Trainee, you'll undertake a structured training program that combines hands-on site experience with advanced HIVE-based operations, developing the skills required to control and optimise one of the world's largest autonomous haulage fleets.

This is a unique opportunity to build a long-term career in mining technology and operations. Throughout the program, you'll receive comprehensive training in Fortescue's MineStar Fleet Management System (FMS), gaining practical experience across both operational mine sites and the Fortescue HIVE. Working alongside experienced controllers, trainers and operational teams, you'll develop the technical knowledge and operational capability needed to safely execute the 24-hour mine plan and support the future of autonomous mining.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete the Integrated Operations Training Career Development Program, including all theory, practical and competency-based assessments.
• Undertake both site-based and HIVE-based training to develop expertise in autonomous haulage operations and the MineStar Fleet Management System.
• Safely execute the 24-hour mine plan while supporting efficient fleet management and operational performance.
• Follow best practice procedures, operational standards and handover processes to ensure safe and consistent delivery.
• Work collaboratively with site operations, mine control, maintenance and training teams to build operational capability and technical knowledge.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance and continuous learning throughout the training program.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum completion of Year 10 and at least 18 years of age.
• Current unrestricted WA Driver's Licence.
• Passion for technology, innovation and autonomous mining.
• Strong computer literacy, communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask and make effective decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Positive attitude, strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous learning.
