Our Opportunity
Location: Perth initially, transitioning to a Pilbara mine site
Roster: Monday – Friday
We are seeking a HV Automotive Electrician – HME Advanced to provide infield technical support for Fortescue Zero power systems. You’ll help keep equipment reliable and performing at its best through maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs, while building strong customer relationships and sharing your technical knowledge with site teams.
The role will be based in Perth initially and will include overseas training and support activities before transitioning to a permanent position at a Pilbara mine site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide infield technical support for Fortescue Zero power systems, including attending breakdowns and diagnosing complex faults.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs to support equipment reliability and uptime.
- Act as the primary technical contact for the customer, building effective working relationships and providing responsive service.
- Prepare clear reports on equipment failures, technical issues and resolutions.
- Work with reliability and planning teams to improve equipment performance and maintenance strategies.
- Support Fortescue Zero’s spare parts strategies.
- Provide practical, on-the-job training to customer teams.
- Follow safety requirements, industry regulations and company policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- You’ll bring a strong electrical trade background and experience supporting complex equipment in a heavy industry or mining environment.
- You’ll be comfortable working independently in the field, solving technical problems and communicating with a range of stakeholders.
- A current Western Australian A Grade Electrical Licence.
- Experience troubleshooting complex equipment, ideally including high-voltage electric drive mining equipment.
- The ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
- Knowledge of power systems, equipment specifications, applications and maintenance requirements.
- A sound understanding of relevant industry standards and safety requirements.
- Clear communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Experience or further training in mobile battery electric technology or maintenance will be well regarded.
