Work Location: Perth Office - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

 

Roster:  Monday to Friday

 

 

The Integration Engineer is responsible for the successful deployment, integration and support of software developed by internal and external teams. Working closely with the Technical Lead – Integration, this role delivers integration activities across SIL, HIL and site environments, supports issue triage and resolution, prepares integration builds and environments, and contributes to high-quality software releases that meet Verification exit criteria. This is a site-based role operating on an 8/6 roster.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Execute assigned software integration activities across SIL, HIL and operational site environments. 
  • Prepare integration builds, environments and configurations, including branch management, dependency alignment and test data.
  • Triage, investigate and resolve integration issues by gathering logs, analysing evidence and raising well-defined defects.
  • Develop and maintain smoke and shakedown tests to improve integration quality and repeatability.
  • Document integration processes, configurations, known limitations and test outcomes to support Verification exit criteria.
  • Communicate integration progress, risks and blockers with Perth and site-based stakeholders.
  • Support development and Verification teams by reproducing issues, validating fixes and sharing technical evidence.
  • Contribute to integration automation, reusable testing and continuous improvement of environment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Demonstrated experience in software engineering, ideally with 3+ years in a similar role. 
  • Experience integrating software within SIL and/or HIL environments.
  • Strong knowledge of C++ and C# development.
  • Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines and issue tracking tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and solve complex technical problems in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
