Our Opportunity
Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: floating 8D6R (in-line with scheduled shutdowns) - FIFO ex. Perth
Reporting to the OPF Central Services Superintendent, this permanent full-time role will provide technical support, labour assistance and leadership to shutdown maintenance teams across MOD outages and major shutdowns.
You will be instrumental in ensuring safe, compliant and efficient shutdown execution while improving maintenance practices, reliability and overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and leadership during MOD outages and major shutdowns.
- Assist with the planning, coordination and compliant execution of outage and shutdown activities.
- Lead personnel in the field, conduct field interactions and promote a strong safety culture.
- Develop and implement safe work instructions and maintenance plans.
- Complete QA/QC inspections of component replacements and shutdown work.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities aligned with Fortescue values and Zero Harm principles.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential trade qualification in either Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
- Previous maintenance experience within a mining process plant environment.
- Experience maintaining MMD sizers, Metso MP1000 and MP1250 cone crushers, and custom and Svendberg conveyor brakes.
- Proven commitment to safety, including demonstrated safety leadership.
- Strong understanding of maintenance processes, procedures and quality requirements.
- Experience using computerised maintenance management systems, preferably SAP.
