Help shape the future of mining operations by improving how mine control technology, operational processes and automation come together to deliver safer, smarter and more productive outcomes.
As Mine Control and Process Improvement Specialist, you will provide senior technical and operational expertise across Mine Control, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, automate manual activities and improve the quality and flow of operational information. Working across Mine Control, site operations, technology and engineering teams, you will turn complex operational challenges into practical solutions that deliver measurable improvements.
This is a senior specialist role for someone who understands both the technology behind modern mine control and the realities of running a mining operation. Rather than leading through direct reports, you will influence through technical credibility, operational knowledge and your ability to lead improvement initiatives from concept through to implementation and sustainable adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist operational and technical support to Mine Control teams, resolving complex system, process and workflow challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Analyse mine control systems, operational data and workflows to identify trends, inefficiencies, risks and opportunities to improve safety, productivity and decision-making.
- Lead process improvement, automation and operational technology initiatives from problem definition and solution design through to implementation and benefits realisation.
- Partner with Operations, Technology, Automation, Engineering and Technical Services teams to design and implement practical, scalable solutions aligned with operational requirements.
- Coordinate testing, user acceptance, implementation and change activities, ensuring new systems and processes are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations.
- Develop operating standards, process documentation, training materials and performance reporting while coaching teams to drive consistent adoption and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience across mining operations, mine control, fleet management, dispatch, integrated operations or a closely related operational environment.
- Strong working knowledge of mine control processes and technologies, including MineStar or comparable fleet management, dispatch or operational control systems.
- Demonstrated experience delivering process improvement, automation, operational technology or business improvement initiatives with measurable operational outcomes.
- Strong project delivery capability across planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, implementation, change and benefits tracking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to interpret operational data, identify root causes and translate findings into practical solutions.
- Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage frontline operational teams through to senior leaders; relevant mining, engineering, technology or project qualifications are advantageous.
