Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth Fortescue Centre, with site travel as required. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday, with flexible work arrangements available
Reporting to the Finance Business Partnering Manager for Decarb , the Principal Finance Business Partner provides strategic financial leadership and serves as a trusted advisor to the senior leaders of the Decarb Program. This is a senior, influential role suited to someone who brings strong commercial judgement, enthusiasm, and is adaptable to change while confidently managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The role is accountable for driving financial performance, delivering actionable insights to support informed decision-making, and ensuring financial outcomes are fully aligned with Decarb and business strategy.
This role is for an initial fixed term of 12 months at full-time capacity to support the ramp up and acceleration of the Decarb program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accurate and timely monthly financial reporting for the Decarb portfolio, including clear commentary on performance drivers, variances, risks, and opportunities
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes for Decarb, including scenario analysis and risk-adjusted outlooks
- Provide senior representation for the Decarb FBP function in stakeholder forums, ensuring financial positions, issues and recommendations are clearly articulated and progressed
- Prepare high-quality executive-level presentations, papers, and briefings on financial performance, outlook, and strategic implications
- Drive robust portfolio-level reconciliation and financial alignment across reporting streams
- Provide guidance on accounting treatment and foreign exchange impacts, ensuring financial outcomes are appropriately understood and managed
- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, reporting, and performance management, while mentoring team members and supporting a high-performing team culture.
- Ensure financial reporting and accounting accuracy in compliance with accounting standards and Fortescue Group Accounting Policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- CA/CPA or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Extensive experience in a finance business partnering, commercial or finance role.
- Strong background in financial forecasting and analysis.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and manage stakeholders, and tailor information and insights to all levels of the organisation.
- Track record of driving efficiency, cost optimisation, and financial performance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate
financeintobusiness objectives into financial plans and outcomes.
