Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth Office - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
The Principal Project Compliance will play a critical role in assuring the delivery and readiness of projects. This role leads the development and performance of compliance activities related to project delivery & readiness, supporting the completion of key deliverables that enable project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitors project obligation compliance risks across Fortescue’s portfolio of Projects
- Leads the development of, and embeds, ways of working to achieve project execution readiness
- Performs readiness reviews of projects to determine their state of readiness for execution, prepares gap closure plans and monitors their implementation
- Owns and maintains the awareness and communication tools and materials for the Compliance & Verification function, including SharePoint page, management reports and training matrix
- Leads the design, planning, delivery and close-out of assurance activities related to obligations compliance
- Leads development of compliance reporting systems and prepares management reports as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, commerce, law, environment or a similar field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the mining sector, demonstrating significant experience performing risk management, compliance, assurance and / or obligations management
- Proficiency using enterprise compliance management systems
- Proficiency using Esri ArcGIS
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and standards
- Strong understanding of compliance, risk and readiness frameworks
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
