Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Cloudbreak or Christmas Creek (Chichester Hub) - Fortescue’s Chichester Hub is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 7D/7R -  FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra

 

Christmas Creek is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to join the Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) team. Reporting to the NPI Supervisor, this role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault finding and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems across camp facilities, offices, workshops and village infrastructure. While diagnostic and repair work is required, most day-to-day work focuses on preventative maintenance, HVAC cleaning and ice machine servicing to keep site equipment clean, efficient and operational.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • Conduct preventative maintenance across NPI assets
  • Perform routine HVAC cleaning and ice machine servicing
  • Diagnose and rectify refrigeration and HVAC faults as required
  • Install and commission new refrigeration equipment
  • Complete inspections and compliance testing requirements
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to site standards

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade Qualification
  • Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick)
  • WA Electrical Workers Licence (or recognised equivalent)
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence
  • Experience maintaining commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Understanding that this role is predominantly focused on preventative maintenance, cleaning and servicing activities rather than major installation or diagnostic work
  • Experience working within mining, resources or remote environments
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
