At Fortescue, we're shaping the future of mining through innovation, technology and sustainable project delivery. We're looking for an experienced Senior Planner and Scheduler to join our team and play a key role in delivering major projects across our growing portfolio.

 

This is an opportunity to influence project outcomes from concept through to execution, working with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated schedules, provide critical insights and support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated master project schedules to support the successful delivery of project milestones.
  • Prepare cost-loaded schedules and support project cost forecasting.
  • Perform critical path, milestone and "what-if" scenario analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor schedule health, maintain schedule integrity and ensure logical sequencing of project activities.
  • Review and integrate contractor schedules into the overall project program.
  • Analyse project performance, identify emerging trends and provide productivity benchmarking and reporting.
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM), including CPI and SPI analysis where required.
  • Prepare accurate month-end reporting and contribute to quarterly forecasting activities.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project schedules reflect current priorities and delivery requirements.
  • Develop supporting planning documentation, including schedule basis documents and planning methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience as a Project Planner within major projects.
  • Client-side project experience across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to execution.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with project controls, scheduling methodologies and performance reporting.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and project forecasting.
  • Experience using Power BI and AI-enabled planning tools will be highly regarded.
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering or an internationally recognised Project Controls certification is desirable.
  • A strong commitment to safety, collaboration and continuous improvement.
