You will create reusable patterns, self-service workflows and standard delivery pathways that help teams build, deploy and operate services efficiently.

This senior role provides end-to-end ownership of complex problem areas. You will influence technical standards and ways of working, partner with engineering, infrastructure, networking and security teams and balance long-term platform design with practical, incremental delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver reusable platform capabilities, standard delivery pathways and self-service workflows that improve developer productivity and reduce operational effort.
  • Define and evolve reference architectures, engineering standards and non-functional requirements covering security, reliability, cost and operability.
  • Translate business and engineering needs into platform roadmaps, presenting clear options, trade-offs and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Build and improve secure continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Automate environment provisioning and change management using reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns in Terraform.
  • Operate and continuously improve Kubernetes-based runtime platforms, including OpenShift or managed Kubernetes, with a focus on performance, scalability and resilience.
  • Embed observability and operational readiness through metrics, logs, traces, runbooks, incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Partner with engineering, networking, security and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, compliant and supportable platform solutions.
  • Coach and mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews, code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions and practical documentation.
  • Lead through influence by setting technical direction, establishing reusable standards and driving alignment across squads.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or equivalent industry experience.
  • Significant platform engineering or DevOps experience delivering and operating shared services in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience designing and operating platform capabilities that improve developer productivity, reliability and service delivery.
  • Proficiency deploying and operating workloads on Kubernetes, including OpenShift or managed Kubernetes.
  • Strong AWS experience, including cloud-native services, networking and cost and operability trade-offs.
  • Advanced Infrastructure as Code capability using Terraform, with a focus on maintainability, automation and reuse.
  • Experience developing secure continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python or TypeScript, including experience building application programming interfaces, automation and integration components.
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, preferably across Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Ubuntu environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to own complex problems end-to-end, influence stakeholders, mentor engineers and communicate technical decisions clearly.
