Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth, Western Australia. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday.
An opportunity is now available to join the dynamic and award-winning Fortescue Treasury team.
The Senior Treasury Analyst role offers the right candidate an opportunity to work within a dynamic corporate Treasury, where the role will focus mostly on liquidity risk management analysis, strategy and execution.
You will be able to work autonomously and as part of the Treasury Operations team, while remaining adaptable to Fortescue business changes. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external banking partners to provide critical insights and deliver aligned business outcomes. Reporting to the Manager Treasury Operations, the Senior Treasury Analyst leads Fortescue’s liquidity risk management by managing short-term forecasts, assessing funding requirements and available facilities, and ensuring day-to-day funding of all Fortescue bank accounts whilst overseeing payment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- This role is part of the Treasury Operations and leads development and execution of liquidity risk management strategy whilst complying with Treasury Policies
- Provide input into Group financial models and forecasts
- Manage the Treasury short-term cashflow forecast model
- Manage the quarterly international subsidiary cashflow forecasts and action items working with Group Tax, Company Secretariat and subsidiary directors
- Prepare liquidity reporting updates and recommendations for information / approval
- Authorised Dealer – delegated authority to instruct money market deal execution and move cash between Fortescue bank and at-call accounts
- Active management of the Fortescue short-term investment portfolio – c. US$3-4 billion
- Back-up Authorised Dealer for foreign currency risk management strategy execution
- Work closely with Treasury Operations team to ensure liquidity in multiple currencies whilst maintaining working capital efficiency and considering interaction between Treasury and Global Markets for foreign exchange risk management
- Work closely with Funding team to minimize cost-of-carry on Group funding strategy
- Support Manager Treasury Operations in administration and reporting associated with asset finance facilities
- Manage the release of all business payment files in SAP BCM
- Support the Treasury team in prioritising and delegation of tasks, as well as providing hand-on support to the team in operational processes and projects
- Support the business and Treasury team in delivering objectives that are aligned to the Company vision and values
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated capability in treasury operations or financial risk management
- Degree in Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent
- Ability to engage confidently with internal leaders, cross-functional teams and external banking counterparties while maintaining professional standards and confidentiality
- Strong analytical abilities
- Attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient use of technology
