Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday – With Occasional Travel to Operational Sites

At Fortescue, we are transforming the way materials move across one of Australia's largest mining operations.

We are seeking an experienced operational leader to lead our Distribution Centre and Logistics function, ensuring materials move safely, efficiently and reliably from suppliers through to our operations.

Reporting to the Manager Inventory & Logistics, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for the Distribution Centre, inbound and outbound logistics, contractor performance, and operational service delivery.

This role will play a key part in shaping the future operating model for Distribution Centre and Logistics by driving operational excellence, strengthening contractor performance, and improving end-to-end supply chain reliability across the business.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will solve complex supply chain challenges, enhance operational performance, and strengthen service delivery throughout Fortescue's logistics network. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine impact by leading people, influencing key stakeholders, and delivering continuous improvement across a critical part of our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong safety culture across Distribution Centre and logistics operations.
• Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the DC & Logistics team to build capability and drive performance.
• Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient movement of materials across Fortescue's logistics network.
• Manage logistics contractors to deliver strong safety, operational and commercial outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data and systems to enhance operational performance.
• Build strong relationships across Operations, Warehousing, Materials Management, Procurement and external logistics partners while leading responses to supply chain disruptions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated leadership experience in warehousing, logistics or supply chain operations.
• Proven experience leading frontline operational teams and developing high-performing people.
• Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience driving operational improvements through data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems is desirable; tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or Business will be highly regarded.
