Our Opportunity

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

 

Roster: 8D/6R ex Perth

 

Reporting to the Manager OPF Shutdowns, this is a critical leadership role responsible for the safe and successful delivery of large-scale shutdowns within a technically complex magnetite processing operation.

You will lead the planning and execution of major 240-hour and modular 288-hour shutdowns involving up to 1,200 personnel across multi-discipline maintenance, projects, and inspection scopes. Your leadership will directly influence plant availability, asset reliability, and production performance.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a proven shutdown leader who thrives in fast-paced, time-critical environments and is motivated by delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing shutdown execution and logistics team, ensuring safe, efficient delivery of shutdown objectives.
  • Oversee shutdown planning, governance, and execution, maintaining strong performance in safety, schedule, cost, productivity, and quality.
  • Manage shutdown budgets and resources, optimising cost performance while minimising downtime and maximising plant availability.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors to support successful shutdown outcomes.
  • Align shutdown scopes with asset management and reliability strategies, driving defect elimination and continuous reliability improvements.
  • Deliver accurate reporting, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives while promoting standardisation and innovation across shutdown activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience leading large-scale shutdowns in complex fixed plant environments
  • Demonstrated capability managing large contractor workforces and multi-discipline scopes
  • Strong understanding of shutdown governance, maintenance execution strategies, and work management systems
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in high-pressure, time-critical environments
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and SAP
  • Mechanical or Electrical trade background highly regarded
