Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 14D14R - FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra.

 

Cloudbreak is seeking a safety-focused and motivated Trade Assistant - Structural Integrity to join our Structural Integrity team. Working alongside Fabricators and maintenance personnel, you will provide hands-on support across structural repairs, maintenance and remediation activities throughout the fixed plant.

 

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in mining, fixed plant or heavy industrial environments who enjoys practical work and wants to build their skills within an experienced maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assist Fabricators and tradespeople with structural maintenance and repair activities.
  • Support structural remediation works across fixed plant and associated infrastructure.
  • Prepare work areas, materials, equipment and tooling for planned maintenance activities.
  • Assist with removal, installation and replacement of structural components.
  • Perform basic grinding, cleaning and preparation of steel and structural components.
  • Support safe lifting, rigging and material-handling activities within competency.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and work area safety.
  • Follow Fortescue safety procedures, isolation requirements and safe work practices.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Previous Trade Assistant experience within mining, fixed plant, construction or heavy industry.
  • Exposure to structural steel, fabrication or fixed plant maintenance highly regarded.
  • Experience working around conveyors, crushers, chutes and other mineral-processing infrastructure desirable.
  • Confident using basic hand and power tools.
  • High Risk Work Licences such as EWP, Working at Heights or Forklift advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to safety and following established work procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
  • Current Australian driver's licence.
