Our application process only accepts a single file upload. If you would like to include a cover letter, please combine your resume and cover letter into one document and upload it in the resume field when submitting your application.
Our Talent Acquisition team will review your application. If you progress to the next stage, you will be notified via email or phone. Due to the high volume of applications, we cannot provide individual updates. However, you can check your application status by logging into your Careers Profile.
For some roles, you may be invited to attend an assessment day as part of the recruitment process. This involves meeting with a panel of hiring managers and recruitment advisors, as well as activities designed to evaluate how you interact and collaborate with others.

Yes, we offer Vacation Programs for students from the first year through to their final year of study, as well as a variety of Graduate Programs for university graduates. Intakes for these programs usually begin in April or May each year.

Our recruitment process can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks, depending on the role and the number of applications we receive.

FIFO stands for Fly-In, Fly-Out, a common work arrangement in the mining industry. For our Pilbara Operations, we offer FIFO flights from Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Newman, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra. If you live outside these locations, you will need to arrange your own flights to one of these locations, at your own cost.
Depending on the role, we also offer some residential opportunities in Port Hedland and Karratha, for those willing to relocate.

If you are shortlisted for an interview, it will be conducted by a member of our Talent Acquisition team, along with the hiring manager or a subject matter expert. Our interviews can happen in person or online via Microsoft Teams. Generally, the panel will consist of two to three people.
Interviews will include a mix of behavioural questions aligned with our Fortescue Values as well as technical questions related to the role you have applied for. These questions are designed to assess your values, culture fit, experience and technical skillset relevant to the role.
You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the role and working at Fortescue.
The process typically involves submitting an online application, participating in a Fortescue Values-based interview, undergoing a pre-employment medical assessment whilst also completing a background, police and identification checks.
